Hello!

With two decades of experience in the nonprofit sector, I have a proven track record in civic learning and engagement, community-building, facilitation, and youth leadership development. I'm a strategic thinker and practitioner with a depth of experience including community organizing, philanthropy, and leading departments and initiatives. I served as the inaugural director of a new set of civic engagement initiatives in Maine, and most recently was the Senior Project Manager for a nation-wide youth civic fellowship.

I am emphatically pro-democracy and passionate about building civic spaces that are accessible, equitable, and inclusive. I consider my ability to galvanize individuals, groups, and communities of all ages and from all walks of life to be my super-power.

Throughout my career I have taught courses and workshops on philosophy, youth leadership development, and civic engagement. I've facilitated year-long community-based research studies, intergenerational communities of practice, and conversations across lines of difference. I love working with people of all ages and I'm the biggest fan of young people, ages 14-24.

I have lived and/or worked in all corners of the country and now live in Portland, Maine, with my three wild and curious kids and my very patient husband.  When not working, you can find me in the ocean or the woods, reading, starting house projects, gardening, or working to complete a certification in mind-body coaching.
